Bag emptying station

IB Verfahrens- und Anlagentechnik has developed stations that are primarily based on ergonomic aspects for manually emptying bagged goods. The manual emptying station facilitates fatigue-free working, among other things with a large support table, an insertion grid and a design that is also easy to clean. In addition, the modular design paves the way for integrating the station into the production environment in a tailor-made manner and taking into account the wishes of the employees.

Product description

A large bag support table makes work easier. An insertion grid prevents the bag and undesired parts falling into the hopper. Furthermore, the bag chutes are designed to be easy to clean.

Products with poor flowing properties can be emptied using discharge aids such as fluidisation pulses, vibrators, loosening stirrers or beaters. In order to be able to retrofit a beater, a universal attachment plate is installed. A beater can be attached to this plate at any time.

The manual bag emptying devices can be extended using metering and conveyance devices such as a cellular wheel sluice, a suction feed, a metering screw or a conveyance screw.

Extraction is performed via a top-mounted filter or a connection to a separate aspirator. The basic bag holding station is stationary and designed with a connection to an existing dedusting system. Filter cartridges are normally used. However, hose filters and pocket filters are also used. An air guide plate that is easy to remove ensures an optimised air flow and keeps the dust away from the operator.

Materials

Depending on the application, the manual bag emptying systems are made of standard steel 1.0038 or stainless steel 1.4301. Other materials can also be used upon request.

High quality versions that are free of dead space are provided for the pharmaceutical industry. For the food industry, the system components that come into contact with the products are designed in accordance with Regulation (EC) 1935/2004.

Functional description

Inserting the bags

The operator opens the flap for the bag chute and places the bag on the support table. Thanks to the integrated gas pressure springs, the flap can be opened and closed easily. A vacuum lifter can be used to set the bags down in order to make working easier.

They then push the bag on a support grid into the bag emptying device and use a knife to cut it off. Lifting the bag empties it into the hopper. The support grid within the bag chute also serves as access protection.

Product metering

The product is added to the process using a metering and conveyance device. The received volume can be checked using a fill level sensor. In order to protect subsequent process steps from contamination, the bag holding station can also be equipped with a screen and a metal separator.

According to the customer’s requirements, the product falls directly into the required process container or is fed in a controller manner via a metering device.

Dust extraction

Dedusting is performed when the flap is open and is switched on and off automatically via a contact switch. The filter is cleaned with compressed air when the cover is closed. The filter cakes therefore fall into the product hopper.

Discharging the of empty bags

The operator uses the discharge chute installed on the side to throw the empty bags into a bag or an empty bag compactor that is installed.
