Container emptying stations

Containers are a proven means of transporting bulk materials. Once they have arrived at their destination, they can be used directly as storage for production materials in conjunction with a flexible emptying station. This means that bulk materials no longer have to be transferred to their own silos in a time-consuming process. IB Verfahrens- und Anlagentechnik’s solutions are equipped with their own control intelligence and this also allows demand-based metering of raw materials appropriate to the recipe specifications of the production.

Product description

The ergonomic design and a controller that is suitable for the application guarantee that bulk materials containers can be emptied easily and efficiently. Different docking systems provide you with high flexibility for different containers. Thanks to the modular design, the stations are adjusted to your exact requirements.

The discharge connection’s diameter and height are important for designing the docking system.  The spring-loaded docking connection seals the container’s docking connection in an optimum manner. This prevents dust escaping and product contamination.

Materials

The base frames that are made of steel or stainless steel are stable and comply with the static requirements. The steel components are painted or hot-dip galvanised to protect against corrosion. The surface of the stainless steel components is glass bead blasted. Other treatment procedures are possible upon request.

All components for use in the food industry comply with the specifications in the food information regulation EU 1169/2011.

Functional description

Inserting the container

The containers are lifted onto the emptying station using a forklift or a crane. The bulk materials container is placed on the emptying frame and aligned automatically using the centring corners, so that the container is located perfectly above the docking station.

The container’s emptying connection is above the docking connection. The connection seals automatically when setting the container down.

Starting the emptying process

The operator opens the discharge flap on the container. If no metering device is present, the bulk material flows out directly. Shutting the flap off manually on the container can be used for rough metering. If an automatic metering system is used, the metering device is activated by pressing a button for the start request.

Ending the emptying process

After the required quantity of product or raw material was inserted into the system, metering stops automatically.
